Frequently Asked Questions
I am picking up my cake. Any special instructions?
Yes, your cake should be placed in a FLAT place in your car and kept very cool. Ideally, this will be a floorboard or the back of an SUV with proper airflow. (In your seat or in someone’s lap is not recommended.) Your cake needs to be refrigerated until 1 hour before serving. We do not recommend cakes be set-up outside or indoors in direct sunlight. All Things Cake is not responsible for cakes once they leave our store.
Do you rent your cake and cupcake stands?
Yes! We rent our cake and cupcake stands for $40 for the weekend. We have a variety of cupcake towers and cake plateaus in gold, silver, pearl and wood.
What cake flavors and fillings do you offer?
A full list of cake flavors and fillings is available on the Custom Cakes page of our website.
Do you deliver your cakes?
Yes! We offer delivery within Tulsa and surrounding communities, please call us to receive a delivery quote.
Can you match colors for my cake?
If you provide a swatch, we will do our best to match the color. However, please keep in mind that due to food coloring limitations, we may not be able to guarantee an exact match. Color swatches should be delivered to All Things Cake when ordering your cake. Swatches sent via email or text are not reliable given differences in screens and printers.
Do you offer cakes for special dietary needs?
We currently offer gluten-free cakes in chocolate and vanilla. Our icing and fondant is also gluten free. We do not currently offer sugar free, nut free, dairy free or egg free.
How do you price your cakes?
Our cakes are priced based on the size (number of servings) and how they’re decorated. Our cakes can be created in any of our flavor and filling combinations. We do not charge extra for different flavors/fillings.
I have already placed my order. Can I make changes to my cake?
Changes to party cakes can be made up until 1 week before pick up. After that time, changes will be evaluated and may be available for an additional fee.
When do I pay for my cake?
Party cakes require a 50% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance on cakes being picked up can be paid at time of pick up. Cakes being delivered must be paid in full prior to delivery.
Wedding cakes require a 30% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is due 3 weeks before the delivery date.
I want fresh flowers on my cake. Can you do that?
Absolutely! We love adding fresh flowers to wedding cakes and we prefer to place them. Your florist is welcome to place the flowers, but if we place them and damage occurs, we can fix the damage with the kit we bring to all deliveries. All Things Cake is not responsible for damage to your cake once it’s delivered.
My wedding cake will be set up outside. Is that OK?
We highly recommend that your cake be set up indoors in a room that is 70° or cooler. Heat, humidity, direct sunlight and pests can cause damage to your cake. All Things Cake is not responsible for any damage to your cake once it’s delivered.
I want a small cake, but I need to serve over 200 guests. Do you offer sheet cakes or kitchen cakes?
Yes! Our sheet cakes are a great way to have extra servings in the kitchen. Our sheet cakes are 4” tall and include a filling, just like the main wedding cake. Guests will not know that they are receiving a piece of kitchen cake vs. the main cake.
I want the look of a five-tier cake, but only need to serve 75 guests. Do you offer faux tiers?
Yes! We offer faux tiers that are Styrofoam on the inside, but are decorated to look like real cake on the outside. No one will be able to tell it’s not cake!
Do you offer groom’s cakes?
Yes! Groom’s cakes vary from dessert cakes with chocolate dipped strawberries to three-dimensional sculpted edible works of art! We can surprise your groom or create something with him. Bring your ideas…we love a challenge! We can even accommodate grooms who prefer Rice Krispie Treats, cookie cakes, brownies, cheesecake or donuts instead of cake!
How many servings of cake do I need?
If you are having a plated dinner and are serving each guest a piece of cake, we recommend ordering enough cake for each guest. However, if you will have a cake table where guests will come and select a piece of cake, we recommend having enough cake for 75% of your highest guest count. For example, if you are expecting 200 guests, you will need approximately 150 servings of cake.
I have already tasted your cake. Do I need an appointment to book my wedding cake?
No. If you have already had a tasting appointment, you can call or stop by anytime to complete your booking.
Do I need an appointment to sample cake?
Yes, we offer two types of cake tastings. In-House Tastings are reserved for those needing 50 or more servings of cake. We also offer a Tasting-To-Go, which is a tasting kit that can be scheduled for pick up. Both tasting options are $25 and can be booked online.
Can I have multiple flavors of cake within my wedding cake?
Yes! You can have a different flavor and filling in each tier of your cake. We never upcharge for different cake flavors and fillings and recommend offering your guests 2 to 3 different flavor options.
How far in advance should I book my wedding cake?
We recommend booking your wedding cake 3 to 6 months in advance. While you are welcome to book your cake up to 1 year in advance, we have found that tastes and trends change resulting in the redesign of many wedding cakes that are booked too far in advance. Some months fill more quickly than others, including May, June and October. If your wedding falls in one of those months and you need your cake delivered, please consider booking 6 months in advance.
