Themed baby showers are so fun to be a part of! This one was themed: Ahoy – It’s a Boy!
We started the theme with the cake, which was the centerpiece of the dessert table. The party host chose a 2-tiered cake to serve 26 and we kept it simple in design with horizontal stripes on the bottom tier. We added a name plaque outlines with a rope accent to help welcome baby Sahil. For the top tier, we cut out two anchors in fondant and let them dry. We then painted them gold and added fondant rope accents. These were placed against the solid blue base of the top tier.

For additional servings on the dessert table, we added nautical themed cupcakes. We started by cutting out our 2″ blue discs in fondant and let them dry. We then added gold buttons, anchors and ring buoys. We piped a buttercream rosette on the cupcakes and then placed a decorated disc on each one. They coordinated the cake perfectly!

The dessert table also included nautical themed cake pops. For the cake pops, we cut out small anchors in red fondant. We then dipped our cake balls in white and blue chocolate and then attached an anchor to each one. We also created sailboat sugar cookies and iced them in red, white and blue royal icing. The cookies are not pictured individually, bu can be seen on the dessert table below.

We were thrilled to be a part of this baby shower welcoming baby Sahil! Congrats to the entire family on your new addition!
